FAQ Introduction

Choosing the right early learning centre is a big decision, and it’s natural to have questions.

Below are answers to the most common questions families ask about MyKidz Early Learning, our programs, funded kindergarten, daily routines, and enrolment process. If you’d like to learn more or see the centre in person, we’d love to welcome you for a tour.

ABOUT MYKIDZ

What ages do you care for at MyKidz Early Learning?

We care for children aged 6 weeks through to 3 and 4 year old kindergarten, offering nurturing early learning programs and a funded kindergarten program to support children at every stage of development.

Where is MyKidz Early Learning located?

We are located in Doncaster East, serving families in Doncaster East and surrounding suburbs.

What are your operating hours?

We are open Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 6:30pm, providing flexible care to support working families.

Is MyKidz a large childcare centre?

No. MyKidz is a boutique, homely early learning centre, allowing educators to provide personalised care and build strong relationships with children and families.

FUNDED KINDERGARTEN

Do you offer funded kindergarten?

Yes. We offer a Victorian Government-funded kindergarten program for eligible children.

What makes your kindergarten program different?

Our kindergarten program is enriched with Montessori principles alongside the Australian curriculum, supporting independence, confidence, school readiness, and a love of learning.

How do I know if my child is eligible for funded kindergarten?

Children are eligible if they turn 3 or 4 years old on or before 30 April in the year they attend kindergarten. Funded kindergarten provides up to 15 hours per week. Eligibility is not means-tested.

Is funded kindergarten really free?

Funded kindergarten is partially funded by the Victorian Government. Some additional fees may apply for extended care or services outside funded hours.

Do you offer sessional kindergarten programs?

We deliver funded kindergarten within a long day care setting, providing continuity of care, extended hours, and consistent educators throughout the day.

Are your educators qualified?

Yes. All educators are qualified and experienced, with strong staff consistency and long-serving team members.

How do you support children’s wellbeing and behaviour?

We provide a respectful, supportive environment where children are guided with positive strategies and emotional support.

DAILY EXPERIENCE

What does a typical day look like?

Each day includes play-based learning, indoor and outdoor activities, meals, rest time, and opportunities for quiet and active learning.

Do children have rest or sleep time?

Yes. Children are supported with appropriate rest or sleep based on their age and individual needs.

Do you provide meals?

Yes. We focus on high-quality nutrition and cater for dietary requirements, providing light breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack.
